How to dress little explorers for outdoor adventures!
1
I’ve found it hard to find good puddlesuits in my son’s size, as he’s a very tall 5 year old, but waterproof dungarees have transformed our outdoor adventures! They tend to be elasticated at the bottom with an elastic ‘stirrup’ to help keep them snug and tight over wellies, stopping water from getting in. You can get fleece lined ones in winter which are so snug and warm!

The best way to deal with muddy, waterproof outer layers is to let them dry in an outer room such as a utility or garage… and then just brush the mud off when dry. Washing them will gradually make them less waterproof and this way you will make them last much longer!

For little feet we think barefoot is best but in the summer, we find jelly shoes extremely useful. They can be used as a general summer shoe but also for water based adventures when the footing is just too rough and stony for bare feet. A favourite brand for our family is Juju!
